CEC AD Session | The Power and Purpose of Storytelling
An often under-utilized yet exceptionally valuable tool leaders ought to embrace is storytelling. Sharing experiences, insights, and observations that provide context and direction can be incredibly effective in managing and motivating teams. The sharing of real stories that include distinct examples can help put existing circumstances into context. Storytelling can not only help in managing conflicts, addressing problems, and influencing others to do their best; it can also be used to sell a vision or advance strategic agendas.

Developing and nurturing a talent for storytelling is not easy, however. It starts with strong communication skills, authenticity, and the desire to really listen. It also requires the ability to articulate thoughts and breakdown complex events into interesting and relatable narratives.

During this session Steven John, CIO at AmeriPride Services Inc., an Aramark Company and Ken Piddington, VP & CIO at U.S. Silica Company will share ways in which you can utilize a storytelling approach to communicate more effectively and motivate your team.
